What Is "HISTAMINE"
When the skin becomes dry and irritated, it itches. Scratching triggers the release of a chemical called histamine which causes more inflammation and itching, making the rash even worse. This is known as the “itch-scratch cycle”.
While the symptoms of eczema are different for each person, eczema usually affects specific areas of skin, for example in the elbow and knee creases, around the mouth, eyelids, hands and feet. Dry, sensitive skin is a symptom of eczema, but eczema is also known for its intense itch.

There is an audible buzzing nearby. The female mosquito lands, pierces the victim’s skin with her proboscis, and sucks out the blood. She needs this blood meal to develop new eggs. Once the mosquito has had her fill, the victim is left with inflamed, itchy skin. That’s because whenever a mosquito bites, it releases some saliva, which contains proteins that prevent clotting, dilate the blood vessels, and make it easier for the mosquito suck in the blood. At the same time, the proteins activate the mast cells, a type of immune cell that releases the neurotransmitter histamine, which sets off the uncomfortable itching and inflammation.

Reactions more severe than the typical itchy red bump experienced by most people as a result of a mosquito bite occur less commonly. These may result in blistering rashes, bruises, or large areas of swelling at the bite sites.
